The Coming Contrary Warrior Podcast re Psyche, Science, History The World Crisis Part I

I have talked about this for a long time. I have said I was going to start a podcast and basically this was in response to the prompting of several people in my car as I drove them home. A 16 year old girl both of whose parents were psychologists. I don’t remember exactly what I was talking about but it had to do with psychology and Carl Jung I’m sure. At a certain point she said that I should have a podcast. But I really didn’t know what to do to set up a podcast and so I had to research that and then I developed some phobia and whatever and then finally I got around to overcoming all of that.

The latest was a passenger in my car who even remembered me calling in to a radio talk show she worked on regarding alternative points of view, spiritual and otherwise. “Synchronicity at work!”

The very first one was a Harvard student. I was telling him the story of how and why Harvard changed their coat of arms in the latter part of the 19th century. Long story short, they modernized it by eliminating any reference to Jesus, shortening it to the word for “truth” in Latin (“Veritas”), and, then, the final blow and significant shift was demonstrated by what they did with the four books that were depicted on the original coat of arms.

In the original code of arms, there’s a lot of talk about Jesus and the truth in his church and there are four books, presumably Bibles there. (In case you didn’t know)- Havard was founded as a theology school. In any case, three were upside up and one was upside down as an indication that you could not get all your knowledge through book learning.

But, what happened was that somehow in the second-half of the 19th century, I maintain that Harvard became one of the world capitals of over-intellectualization and of what that Carl Jung called “monotheistic consciousness” where the mind is a be-all/end-all phenomenon attached to a body, in effect, a robotic machine and is (to boot!) a jealous God, as it were. Men would have to be 100% submissive to this person or person’s word, its point of view, etcetera. And which also would demand you went out, hunted down and killed traitors otherwise known as heretics. “Heresy” literally means “a free choosing of a philosophical school, sect, or even plan”.

Oh! You think that the heresy wars and witch trials of the Middle Ages were over? Have you ever wondered how it was that the French revolutionaries went from trying to liberate their country from the tyrannical rule of an aristocrat to the even more psychopathic rule of a collection of people in Paris (the “revolutionaries” themselves) who didn’t even care what the people of Paris thought but only what they themselves as a group thought the French Revolution should be. And, the “Revolutionaries” persecuted and executed each other as well.

The Marxists  have the world record on this easily.  We will look at the communist mentality especially as Wilhelm Reich, ex-Marxist and ex-Freudian, saw it as coming about.

I had a friend, a woman whose family had helped Fidel Castro in the revolution. She had a job high up in the Cuban university administration. She even had a car and a driver! She wanted to open up the local Communist Party to Catholics and she ended up flee the country in the wake of the fact of her two friends getting arrested and put in prison because they were part of this attempt to bring in Catholics.

In case you didn’t know, the Italian Communist Party has had Catholics in it since the beginning. But, this is the exception. The rule is that the communist mentality is especially threatened by even a glimmer of traditional religious thought. Even a philosophic free thought, as a matter of fact. I’m going to do a bunch of podcasts about this phenomenon because this is the modern disease.

This is “white man” at his worst.

This is the fruit of the collapse of literal religious belief in the light of the development of science. Nietzsche read one of the new secularist biographies and lost his faith. He then switched to philology, the study of ancient documents, from theology and dropped his plan to become a Protestant minister.

Carl Jung was apparently affected with this skepticism while still young, dreaming that God had taken a giant “dump” on the church. His point of view is certainly one of the most developed substitutions for the lost traditional theology and literal belief in scripture.

In his autobiography, Jung talks about his conversation with an Amerindian medicine man whose description of white men as “people who think in their heads” as opposed to Natives who “think in their chests”, threw him into a  powerful reverie about Caesar crashing through the gates of Gaul’s Celtic towns,  imposing a culture through violence that repressed their relationship to their own psyche, the Unconscious. How we have lived out this  “Romanization” ever since.

We even consider it the hallmark of being civilized and intellectually developed.

We will get into a discussion of a book called, The Spear of Destiny. While obviously not the work of non-fiction it purports to be, nevertheless brings to life the significance of the shift of early Christianity from a  mythopoetic/metaphoric understanding of the human soul to the literal theological one.

The author of this book maintains that the eventual collapse of literal theology in the mid-19th century in the light of  science, ironically, brought about by the ed ucatgion and literacy and acceptance of science that Christianity had for the most part, was the spark that brought about what were called “Volkisch” movements, “Volkisch” movements were ethnic groups, often atheists, who tried to “purify” their group and return to their original state. Zionism and early German groups were essentially about this. This was all connected to a fear of hereditary degeneration as the Lamarckian theory of inherited characteristics that held sway over an incompletely developed Darwinism. I will explain all of this.

Now, lots of people talk about the sins of “white man” but the irony is that the very biggest critics of white man, Marxist and left-leaning intellectuals, are the very embodiment of everything “wrong” with white men, with Western culture.

They are over-intellectualized and essentially are compulsive in their belief systems. Once again, Jung called this “monotheistic consciousness”.

Real question: how to overcome this conditioning and restore a balance in the psyche?

The very opposite of white man’s mind is experienced in a phenomenon that Carl Jung called synchronicity. Synchronicity is when you have a meaningful a-causal experience. I will give examples

In the early morning in Milan, I used to turn on the TV to hear the news. One day I woke up and heard that the head of the Soviet Union, Gorbachev, was in town and because I had already had enough synchronistic experiences based on meeting people  that I had consciously expressed a desire to meet, I asked myself if I wanted to run into Gorbachev. I really didn’t. So I went back to sleep.

Couple of weeks later the news told me that the emperor of Japan was going to be in town and when I asked myself if I wanted to run to him by coincidence, I said to myself yes.

I had no idea how I could bring this about and I mean if I had thought about it I would have go to hang out at the Japanese consulate. But that didn’t even occur to me and I had to go to work.

So I got on the local subway train which is above ground in my town outside Milan and went downtown and then went off to my first appointment at Bayer pharmaceuticals to conduct an ESL lesson with this scientist there who ran the place.

I would have gone to my next appointment at Smith Kline Beecham but I got a phone call that that lesson had been cancelled so I had the chance to go downtown and work out at the gym where my wife taught dance.

So, I get to the gym, and change my clothes and go over to the running machines so I can warm. But just as I get to the running machines, a man and woman get on before me. I know they’re going to be there at least 20 minutes and since it’s a beautiful sunny day I thought, well, why don’t I just go outside and run?

So I run up the street appropriately named “Way of the Marvels” (in Italian, of course). I turn left and I go over to what’s called Parco Sempione.

I’m running around the park and I’ve got to the opposite side of the park when I hear motorcycles and I look down the street and I say to myself, Oh my God, that’s got to be the emperor’s entourage. They turned the corner and he drives right past me and we’re not 6 feet from each other and we wave and smile at each other.

Now you’re going to say that that’s just luck. But I have another story and, in fact,  I have so many stories just luck begins to wear thin as an explanation. It’s more a sign of a lack of capacity to appreciate the nature of the universe, a typical materialist atheist “white man” point of view.

I was very interested in this book I had in the 80s about anti-aging and antioxidants. I wanted to meet the authors of this book so I proposed to my wife that we drive over to Manhattan Beach and drive around because I knew for a fact that they lived there. I was hoping that my capacity to create coincidence would help us bump into them. It did not happen.

As a matter of fact I was going to live with my family for a few months to help my father with a  business project. When I got off the plane in Philadelphia and I got home, my sister called me and told me that the people that I wanted to meet  were going to be on the show where she was the stage manager the next day. So the next day I went to this morning show on KYW TV in Philadelphia and I met them and asked him a bunch of questions.

I was surprised 24th or 25th time such a thing that happened to me but I have to admit that the sky I love it was a bit much. I have some really more extraordinary stories to tell about my personal life, but I am saving them.

I would have to write a book to do them justice.

You can repeat that to yourself that these are chance/random events, but you cannot prove that. My failure to prove and/or convince someone of this phenomenon of “synchronicity” does not mean my interpretation is wrong.

Failure to prove something true does not mean at all that the hypothesis is wrong.  Basically this whole resistance is a 19th century mechanistic science mental and spiritual disease complete with authoritarian presumption as well as the capacity to project ignorance and presumption on to other people.

In other words, it’s “monotheistic consciousness gone wild”. LOL.

was my father’s own orthopedic surgeon who had the same problem who turned my father into that you turned me on to that.

I’m going to do a whole podcast of vitamin C. But here’s a little quick story so it’s the spring and the guys talking about what we do when we examine patients. He says that if you give 500 milligrams of vitamin C to a patient about to undergo surgery the day of or the day after the surgery wound healing will be significantly faster period now I was surprised by that because this was a concession to the value of vitamin C by a medical professional. It was almost as if he was breaking a taboo. So I raised my hand and I asked if anybody’s doing this and I wasn’t surprise when he said no.

Now why would it be that they couldn’t use this thing and the answer is simple that they would be making a concession to the validity of vitamin C and they can’t stand that frankly.

So if you’re interested in the history of the saga the history of science and my own developmental process which is a demonstration of a lot of the important ideas of these people such as coral young, etcetera Christianity, customers Don Juan, and W rice, then be sure to tune in. I promise it will be interesting
